Club members Lynn M. and Chris G will give a presentation about the Reford Gardens near Rimouski, Quebec. Also known as Les Jardins de Metis, the gardens are a wonderful example of determination and perseverance in a hostile location.
Barb H. will have an overview of our club activities and plans for the year.
We will be taking part in the first Belleville Seedy Saturday, held at Centennial Secondary School. Lots of speakers and demonstrations. In partnership with Seeds of Diversity Canada, Belleville's Green Task Force and Quinte Conservation.
We will have a table at the Quinte Regional Train Show held at Centennial Secondary School. Our table will feature "Gardening in G Scale". G scale modelling is usually done outdoors and the trains are quite large - giving lots of scope for plants in the right size. Come and see us (as well as all the other displays).
Roses! Those beautiful plants - but oh the problems! One of our favourite speakers will be here to share his knowledge and expertise on the care of roses. Rowland Cave-Brown-Cave, Belleville's Manager of Planning, Operations and Development has an extensive background in horticulture.
Club member Jai W. has had a long-time passion for insects and the role they play in our gardens. Jai is a published author, "The Faeries and I" and is currently working on a book about our local insects. This is certain to be an interesting evening!

This is a topic we've been asked for frequently and fortunately Karina Lapierre McIntosh, owner and creative director at Lavish Gardens will be with us to help with design questions and the installation of ecological landscapes with a focus on regenerative, biodiverse gardens.

Guest speaker Cheyenne Hennessy will demonstrate worm farming (vermiculture). Cheyenne is a very enthused worm farmer and wants us all to understand and enjoy the benefits of these little creatures.

Lindsay Nash of Quinte Conservation and Greg Parsons of Quinte Field Naturalists, will be speaking to us about the native trees and shrubs that are keystones in our local ecosystem, touching on supporting biodiversity and mitigating the effects of climate change.
This will be a jammed packed evening with our annual Photo Contest and the Election of the Board of Directors.
We welcome Cate Henderson of the Kenhteke Seed Sanctuary & Learning Centre. Cate is the head gardener and seed saver at Kenhteke and will give us a history of the centre and the things involved in maintaining
